Everyone tell his story and sometimes you can think Color Mapping is a mysterious option and something too complicated to understand in deep. Color mapping option comes from photography and it simply is the tone compression: a useful tool to use in order to avoid overexposures.<\/p>\n<p>Watch the video:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/46224179?byline=0&amp;color=ff9933\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"950\" height=\"534\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Concepts<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basically you should use <strong>Linear Multiplier<\/strong> (default color mapping)<\/li>\n<li>Use <strong>Exponential<\/strong> just in case you overexposed areas<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reinhard<\/strong> is a mix from linear and exponential<\/li>\n<li>Reinhard = Burn value 1,0 = LINEAR behavior<\/li>\n<li>Reinhard = Burn value\u00c2\u00a00,0 = EXPONENTIAL behavior<\/li>\n<li>For little overexposed area use Reinhard and play &#8220;Burn&#8221; value until overexposures are gone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Nobody gives you anything for nothing:<\/strong><br \/>\nExponential avoid overexposures, and to do that reduce the contrast,<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>so keep this in mind and remember to increase the contrast with curves.<\/p>\n<p>* For more info about Color Mapping check the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cg-blog.com\/index.php\/v-ray-for-beginners\/lesson-10\">Lesson 10<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>\u00c2\u00a0V-Ray Real Time &#8211; New Features<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>How V-Ray RT works and a couple of interesting new features: DRAW REGION and REAL ZOOM.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/46225632?byline=0&amp;color=ff9933\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"950\" height=\"534\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Concepts<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Load V-Ray RT in active shade<\/li>\n<li>Just click actiove shade to start it<\/li>\n<li>Disable warning massages if you don&#8217;t like<\/li>\n<li>Use DRAW REGION to focus the render in a specific region (RT becomes really fast!)<\/li>\n<li>Use REAL ZOOM to get closer to the object without moving your camera<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>V-Ray RT is a really great tool to use in your workflow, you can really speed up all the process.<br \/>\nGet the latest version to use <strong>Draw Region <\/strong>and<strong> Real Zoom<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>V-Ray Materials<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Create great glass, understand how FALL OFF works, create a reflection map for the ground.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/46350258?byline=0&amp;color=ff9933\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"950\" height=\"534\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Concepts<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Unlock L and increase Fresnel IOR to get more reflective objects<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t abuse of fresnel IOR<\/li>\n<li>Fall off map allow us to have a color in the front view and nother color in the tangent view<\/li>\n<li>Use bright color in the tangent view to simulate fabrics<\/li>\n<li>Use curves in Fall off to control the distribution of this effect<\/li>\n<li>Create a reflection map in photoshop getting strong contrasts<\/li>\n<li>In Bitmap\/Filtering: select <strong>None<\/strong> instaed of <strong>Pyramidal<\/strong> to get more detailed textures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Of course you can also use texture in fall off in order to ger more realistic fabrics. The concept is always the same: a color or texture ofr a front view, another one for the tangent.
