Who doesn’t know it, car drivers provoking each other at the traffic lights to have a race? But what about such a race with two old and shabby jumbo jets on an airport runway? That sounds more like a film – or a computer game.

That’s the short movie Racing Beats, it has gone on to win many prizes like Animago and Young Director Award 2005.

The film is from two graduates of the Institute of Animation Filmakademie, Steffen Hacker and Alexander Kiesl, it was their diploma film and a fictitious commercial for Microsoft Xbox.

At the beginning ther’s no idea to make a commercial or using 3d and compositing image technics, but developping the story they was necessary: with computer graphic you don’t need permission for filming at the airport!

If you don’t see it yet it’s the right moment. Enjoy it:

The short movie 3d – live: Racing Beats

Racing Beats | making of – (what amazing!)

What do you think about? It’s so funny to graduate in this way… isn’t it?

Digital Magic Group is a VFX company from Thailand: Their works are really awesome! I read about them on CgSociety.

The commercial I’m going to show you talk about an insurace agency.

The creators say that it was a difficult work and they need one animator on particles setup and rendering and another one on the tornado.

Made using 3d studio Max, Thinking Particles, AfterBurn, VRay and After Effects the work was completed in 3 weeks.

Great mix between comedy and Visual Effect. Watch the video…

The sentence in Blue means: Probability: 0,000001%.

In my opinion this work is great and the actors are really funny!
Is it the same for you?

This is a very beautiful spot made by The Embassy, the same VFX society who made the Citroen C4 spot.

This time we talk about GMC Yukon spot.

Two funnies robots, totally in cg, are walking around Yukon laboratories then they see this awesome car: the new Gmc Yukon! Very nice to watch.

I especially like when the robots explore the car as an alien spaceship…
